The Quality Officer is responsible for development and implementation of strategies to effectively support the Direct Care & Treatment (DCT) healthcare network in its goal of providing quality services to the people served by the Mental Health Substance Abuse Treatment Services (MHSATS) business line. As part of the DCT administration, MHSATS provides behavioral health services across a continuum of care. MHSATS offers treatment for adults, children and adolescents with mental illness and chemical addiction (often co-occurring), as well as other complex health and comorbid conditions. Multidisciplinary teams provide care in inpatient hospitals and supervised living settings guided by evidence-based practices and a person-centered treatment philosophy. Most patients have been civilly committed by a state court.
The facilities are licensed and accredited so the Quality Officer provides oversight to processes and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal standards and requirements that govern such facilities. The successful Quality Officer has strong knowledge of healthcare systems, person-centered services, quality control management, state services and accrediting organizations. The Quality Officer will use research skills to gather, analyze and report data used to prevent, resolve and anticipate facility obstacles. The Quality Officer serves as the subject matter expert, and will influence in the areas of practices, processes, and procedures.
Job duties for this position include but are not limited to:
• Supporting, developing and monitoring a quality program that complies with regulating bodies and provides clients and patients with high quality care through the use of healthcare best practices, policies and performance improvement projects
• Gathering, measuring and analyzing data used to monitor performance metrics, provide recommendations to program leadership and assist decision making and long range planning
• Creating a variety of documents and presentations including letters, research summaries, narrative reports and educational materials
Qualifications & Requirements
Must meet the following qualifications listed below:
Three years of professional level healthcare accreditation experience in at least three of the following areas: healthcare management, patient care experience, quality care, quality data collection and reporting, compliance, or patient safety
Note: A Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare management, public administration, law, or clinical health professions may substitute for one year of professional experience. A Master’s Degree in healthcare management, public administration, law, or clinical health professions may substitute for two years of professional experience.

• Experience in compliance and risk management
