Position: Part-Time Instructor
Reports to: Program Manager, Curriculum, and Student Events
Status: Part-Time
Start Date: Fall 2017

The Position
We are looking to hire an exceptional part-time instructor, starting in September 2017. This is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in engaging in an innovative, 6-year early college readiness and career development program targeting public high school students in New York City (OppNet Fellows). You will hone your classroom facilitation skills, learn curriculum development best practices, conduct outreach to high schools for program recruitment, collaborate with a dynamic and passionate team, gain access to our extensive network of NYC professionals and enjoy a real opportunity to create social change.

The Organization

The Person

The candidate should possess outstanding professionalism and discretion, organization and attention to detail, energy and initiative, the ability to prioritize and complete a variety of tasks on time, and a willingness to work on a wide range of assignments.

Responsibilities
The Instructorˇ¦s primary responsibilities will be to:
„h Prepare for weekly classes and program intensives
„h Facilitate weekly afterschool career development and college prep workshops;
„h Provide assistance with program-wide curriculum review and development
„h Assist with student recruitment at partner high schools;
„h Monitor and support student learning and take any necessary action to ensure standards of high-performance;
„h Document all participant attendance and interactions and maintain student records;
„h Chaperone off-site career exposure and college prep field trips;
„h Liaise with student families when necessary; and
„h Engage in peer-learning sessions with other OppNet staff to continuously improve the organizationˇ¦s collective quality of instruction.
