University of Georgia Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant is looking to hire a Public Service Assistant/Associate Coastal Economics Specialist.

The University of Georgia Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant program seeks a Coastal Economics Specialist with a broad interest in marine and coastal resource economics, policy, and management. This position will provide statewide leadership and coordination for developing, maintaining, and evaluating a comprehensive coastal economics extension and applied research program that serves Georgia. Primarily targeted audiences include, but are not limited to, commercial and recreational fishermen, marine aquaculture operators, state and federal resource managers, seafood dealers, other coastal and marine-dependent industries and trade organizations, local governments, and interested public. Information provided to these groups will support industry-related and resource management decisions that promote the sustainable use and conservation of Georgia’s coastal and marine resources.

This is a full time, benefits-eligible, non-tenured Public Service Faculty track position. This position is based in Brunswick, Georgia with travel to other locations as needed. Considerable local and regional travel will be required to ensure the most critical needs of the programmatic area are met.
